The following is from a tribute penned by Morley's son, Eric.

Born in Brantford Ontario in 1928, Morley moved to Montreal with his
sister and parents, and later graduated from McGill University with a
Bachelors Degree in Music. He was the Founder and Director of the
McGill Concert Band, the Lakeshore Concert Band and Monteregian Music
Camp. From 1960-1970 he was the Bandmaster of the Montreal Citadel
Band of The Salvation Army. His career as music director spanned 28
years and touched hundreds of young lives in Montreal and Barrie. As
a composer, Morley leaves us a wonderful legacy of published and
recorded works, including "An Occasional Suite" commissioned by Expo
'67; "Suite for the Monteregian Hills" composed for the Montreal Brass
Quintet and recorded by The Canadian Brass among others; Introduction,
Elegy and Caprice", as test piece for the 1978 European Brass Band
Championship.

Much of Morley's music was written for and published by
The Salvation Army; and if "Introduction, Elegy and Caprice"
represents the pinnacle of his work for brass bands, then the
devotional "For Our Transgressions" illustrates the depth of his
spiritual experience - a journey with his Lord to the victory of
perfect peace.
